Struthers City Schools held their July board of education meeting on Tuesday.

At the meeting, action was taken to announce the name of the new athletic complex.

The complex will be named the Steve Belichick Complex after the former Struthers football star.

Belichick moved on to Case Western Reserve before going to the NFL as a member of the Detroit Lions in 1941.

He went on to serve in World War II and began his coaching career shortly after.

Belichick went on to be the head basketball coach at Hiram College and was an assistant football coach for Vanderbilt (1949-1952), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1953-1955) and the U.S. Naval Academy (1956-1989).

He is a member of the Struthers Hall of Fame and the late father of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
