Two arrested in Mill Creek MetroParks on drug charges
Mill Creek MetroParks Police arrested two people after they were found with suspected cocaine and oxycodone.
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mill Creek MetroParks Police arrested two people after they were found with suspected cocaine and oxycodone.
Twenty-five-year-old Victor Slocum and 36-year-old Rachel Cassidy were arrested on drug charges after they were found in Mill Creek Park after hours.
On July 28 just after 11:30 p.m. police pulled over Slocum and Cassidy because they were spotted in a parked vehicle near the Ford Nature Center after hours.
According to the report, police walked over to the vehicle and spotted multiple empty bags with unknown substances in the car.
Upon searching the vehicle, police say they found a white powder substance of suspected oxycodone and a hard rock substance that was suspected cocaine.
According to the report, when Cassidy was questioned about her relationship with Slocum, she said that he was giving her drugs in exchange for sexual relations. When police asked Slocum, he stated that he was giving Cassidy a ride home.
Slocum and Cassidy were both charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. The two were also issued citations for violating Mill Creek MetroPark hours.
In 2016, Slocum was accused of smuggling drugs into the Mahoning County jail after two inmates were revived with several doses of Narcan.
