Authorities were searching the Sandy Lake area of Mercer County for a man considered armed and dangerous, who is wanted in connection with a double murder in Crawford County as well as an armed robbery in Erie County.

State Police confirm that the search for 21-year-old Jack Elijah Turner took them to Sandy Lake following the discovery of a murdered mother and son in Randolph Township.

Investigators tell 21 News that the bodies of 49-year-old Shannon Whitman and her 10-year-old son were found by a family member over the weekend in their Guys Mills Road home.

Police believe Turner took Whitman's car from the home, and he is considered a person of interest for the homicides.

According to Millcreek Township police in Erie, Pennsylvania, Turner is also a suspect in an armed robbery at the Kwik Fill on the 3300 block of West 38th Street.

As of 4:19 p.m. Monday, Turner was still on the loose. Police say Sandy Lake is one of several locations being searched for Turner.

Turner is described as a white male with dark brown hair, brown eyes, 5' 11”, 145 pounds with a tattoo covering his right hand. Turner has trimmed eyebrows and frequently wears what appears to be diamond stud earrings in both ears.

He may be driving the missing car, described as a grey/silver 2009 Lincoln MKS sedan with license number KXW5126.

Anyone with information about Turner's whereabouts is asked to call PSP Meadville 814-332-6911.
