Nearly 170,000 unregistered voters in Ohio will receive a postcard in the mail showing them how to register to vote in the near future.

According to the release, the initiative is in coordination with the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), a non-profit that helps states increase access to voter registration.

ERIC and participating states work to identify eligible voters through a database. Those not registered to vote receive a postcard from the organization.

According to the release, over 120,000 Ohioans under 21 will receive a postcard.

The deadline for Ohioans to register to vote in this November's general election is October 7.
