Girl Scouts look for ways to sell/deliver cookies during coronavirus

Before the coronavirus halted just about everything that normally goes on in the Valley, Girl Scout troops had picked up cases and cases of cookies from delivery sites, excited to deliver their pre-orders and begin selling the rest of their inventory at cookie booths.
"Since the governor's order was implemented, Girl Scout troops have been using every means they can think of to sell their cookies - from using their Digital Cookie marketing sites, to posting on FB Marketplace (with porch p/up or delivery that respects social distancing), to taking donations and delivering their cookies to nearby hospitals, to working with restaurants and other businesses to sell the cookies on a troops' behalf. Restaurants are struggling themselves, yet they are doing what they can to also help Girl Scouts!" according to local Girl Scout spokesperson, Kimberley Graves.
Girl Scouts of North East Ohio are also working every angle to support their troops and provide them with innovative ways for customers to connect with girls who are selling cookies.
They came up with two options on their website:
1 - Cookie Request: Customers can fill out the form; a Girl Scout will email the customer with a link to her Digital Cookie marketing site; the customer can order cookies, pay online, and choose a delivery option.
2 - Cookie Relief: Make a donation to the cookie relief fund, and our council will make sure the cookies, which are purchased from local troops, are delivered to a non-profit such as a foodbank, healthcare workers and our first responders. This option is 100% tax-deductible and it will help Girl Scout troops with cookies they can't sell - preventing a financial hardship.
"While other youth-serving organizations cannot continue engaging their members without an in-person experience (soccer, dance, karate), Girl Scouts can! Our program is being delivered virtually; our troops are meeting at a distance; and our volunteers are connecting with each other and our girls using Zoom, Google Hangouts and other virtual conferencing platforms," said Graves.
"We know many families are tending to situations ranging from being unemployed to figuring out how to homeschool their children to being on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The result is that girls' routines are completely disrupted. Girl Scouts is one of the only consistent things they have in their lives right now. We are committed to providing a virtual space where girls are encouraged and supported," Graves added.
