Over $700,000 coming to fund a safe election in Mahoning
The county received $784,567.21 in nonprofit grants to fund safe and secure elections.

MAHONING COUNTY, Ohio - Thousands of dollars are coming to Mahoning County to ensure a safe election.
The Mahoning County Board of Elections announced Wednesday that they've received $784,567.21 in nonprofit grants to fund safe and secure elections.
The money comes from the Center for Tech and Civic Life, which is a nonpartisan nonprofit, according to the board of elections.
Mahoning County election officials say the money will help locations prepare for and operate safe elections by investing in things like voting sites, setting up drive-thru and dropbox locations, providing personal protective equipment for poll workers and recruiting and training poll workers.
The county will receive the funds on Oct. 29.
