Annual Valley MLK worship service, workshop to take place virtually

The Martin Luther King Jr. Planning Committee of Mahoning Valley will hold its annual worship service and workshop on Sunday, Jan .17 at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Michael Harrison, President of the Ohio Baptist State Convention and Senior Pastor of Union Baptist Church of Youngstown as speakers.
There events are free and open for all.
Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this year's Annual Worship Service and Community Workshop will be a virtual event.

The Workshop will also take place via Zoom and will focus on institutionalized racism in criminal justice, healthcare, and youth empowerment. The workshop will take place Monday, Jan. 18 and will will start at 8:45 a.m. and run through 12:15 p.m. Attendees need to select a breakout room of personal interest.
Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Virginia Banks, Youngstown Minority Health Director Leigh Greene, and Academy for Urban Scholars Assistant Director Bryant Youngblood will be handling the discussions.
