Cardinal Mooney golfer Jayne Bernard signed her National Letter of Intent to play golf at Malone University.
She's been an integral part of Cardinal Mooney's girls golf team every year of her high school career. She helped lead her team to two consecutive trips to the OHSAA State Tournament in 2018 and 2019.
Bernard has a long list of individual accomplishments, qualifying for the OHSAA district tournament three times, and earning the Bishops cup medalist honors twice.
She's a four year letter-winner, a team captain and 12 time medalist last year.
"Malone is the best environment for me to continue both my academic and athletic career and to grow as a golfer." Jayne said. "There are so many opportunities for me as a student-athlete and I can't wait to get started, but I won't forget all the experiences I had at Cardinal Mooney. I'm very thankful to have been part of this team and proud of everything we have accomplished."
Cardinal Mooney girls golf head coach, Mary Theresa Bellino said, "It has been an honor to coach Jayne. She has been an important part of the team's success. Jayne is exactly the type of player every coach wants on the team. She not only loves to play golf, but she is always working on ways to improve her game. She is going to be a great addition to the team at Malone and I can't wait to see what she does in college."
Jayne is the daughter of Frank and Liz Bernard from Youngstown.
