Person of interest in custody in connection to shooting death of elderly Warren woman

Lewis was killed at her family's home on Starlite Drive on February 28 after being shot in the back during a drive-by shooting.

WARREN, Ohio - Warren Police say they have a person of interest in custody connected to the shooting death of an 89-year-old woman.

Police say the person is in custody on unrelated charges but they believe the person is connected to the homicide of Ruth Lewis.

Lewis was killed at her family's home on Starlite Drive on February 28 after being shot in the back during a drive-by shooting.

Investigators are working with the prosecutor's office to file charges pending lab results from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Police have not identified the person at this point.
