One year after the coronavirus pandemic stalled travel of any kind, the eagerness to escape somewhere with the family has meant travel is happening again.

Evidence mounting everywhere that Americans are eager to travel whether driving or flying says Cathi Taucher, owner of Destiny Travel and Group Tours.

"AS LONG AS I HAVE LIVED, WE'VE HAD THE RIGHT TO WANDER. SUDDENLY THAT WAS TAKEN AWAY AND I DON'T THINK WE REALIZED HOW MUCH WE'D MISS THAT."

But Taucher says travel is coming back and she's been busier than ever this past month, with vaccinations picking up, and resorts making adjustments, like COVID testing, temperature checks, increased hand sanitizing, and masks for adults and kids on planes.

"YOU ARE ALLOWED TO REMOVE the mask TO EAT OR DRINK AND THEN YOU HAVE TO PUT IT BACK ON in most cases."

If it's a Disney trip Taucher says some of the parks, while fully open have decreased capacity

"A LOT OF THE THINGS LIKE THE HOOP-DeE-DO-REVIEW, THE PRINCESS BREAKFASTS; THINGS THAT REQUIRE CHARACTERS AND MAKE IT HARD FOR SOCIAL DISTANCE, THOSE THINGS ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED."

Taucher has traveled three times herself over the past year, and though changed, the future face of travel is still just as bright.

"TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, I'M SEEING SOME AMAZING DEALS OUT THERE."

While cruise ships have started to slowly sail again, most are not leaving from U.S. ports yet.
