Two arrested after alleged social media threats in Salem

SALEM, Ohio -
Two teens in Salem are under arrest in connection with a threat made on social media.
Police Chief J.T. Panezott tells WFMJ news at this time detectives believe the threat was a joke gone bad.
"The teens did not have the capability of carrying out the threat. I want to thank the students who saw something and said something, " said Chief J.T. Panezott."
The chief tells WFMJ news an officer received a tip at around 9:30 Tuesday night and by around 11:15 they had located where the post was made, and had made the arrests.
Chief Panezott added, "The post was made on snap chat however some students made screen shots."
Comments posted on snap chat disappear in seconds.
The post stated the person lives in isolation and solitude. It threatened the high school would be shot up and everyone would know the persons power.
Once again police say two teens are in custody and they do not believe the bothers have the capability of carrying out the threat.
WFMJ news is reaching out to the juvenile prosecutor to find out what criminal charges the two teens will face
We have also reached out to the Salem Schools Superintendent for a comment.
