Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber teams up with company to put up EV charging stations

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber is partnering with a company that plans to eventually make charging stations available to those who own electric vehicles in the Valley.
Chamber officials said they teamed up with the EV Energy Group for any of their members who are interested installing electric vehicle charging stations in their parking lots and businesses.
Cities would also be able to obtain these stations and use the digital "billboard" or digital media towers on the station as an advertising tool.
Chamber officials said the idea for the partnership, which is still in its planning stages, was to join the "Voltage Valley" branding with the creation of Lordstown Motors and wanted to make charging stations available locally.
EV Energy Group also helps businesses navigate the waters of claiming the local, state and federal funds that have been earmarked to support the establishment and growth of electric vehicles and electric charging networks.
As a benefit, Chamber members who choose EV Energy will receive publicity around their decision to support Voltage Valley as well as a more environmentally friendly fuel source, with a news release and ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The timeline of when these charging station would become available has not yet been released.
