Grand jury indicts Liberty woman accused of running down man in Weathersfield

WARREN, Ohio - The Trumbull County Grand Jury has indicted a Liberty Township woman who was accused of running down a man in Weathersfield Township earlier this year.
Chaileen McGarry, 23, is charged with two counts of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence and one count of negligent assault. The grand jury declined to issue an indictment for aggravated vehicular assault.
A warrant was issued for McGarry's arrest after the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a February 17th incident where 24-year-old Kyle Saunders was struck by his own car more than once and run over at the corner of Deforest Road SE and Broadway Ave. SE.
Saunders, who is the father of a toddler, had injuries so severe Doctors had to perform emergency surgery to relieve swelling and pressure from bleeding on his brain.
A negligence lawsuit filed by Saunders seeking more than $25,000 from McGarry has been settled, according to court records. Terms of the settlement have not been disclosed.
