Crews respond to New Castle house fire
The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. on the 2500 block on Highland Avenue.

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Fire crews responded to a house fire in New Castle Monday morning.
The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. on the 2500 block on Highland Avenue.
Reports say that the six people who were inside the residence were able to escape safely, along with their five dogs.
Some of the residents were treated from smoke inhalation at the scene.
While evacuating, the residents were unable to locate their cat amid the chaos.
Firefighters went into the residence and were able to rescue the cat, who was then given oxygen and returned to its owner.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
