A Lisbon man accused of a brutal murder in 2012 was sentenced in Columbiana County Common Pleas court today.
Kevin Kirby, 46, changed his plea to guilty after three days of testimony. He was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for his crimes.
Kirby was charged with two counts of Aggravated Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, and Tampering with Evidence in the 2012 murder of Melinda Todd.
In December of 2012, Kirby attacked and murdered 43-year-old Todd in her Salem Township home. Todd's 5-year old grandson also suffered massive injuries in the attack, but survived.
Kirby was not indicted until 2019, after the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Prosecutor's Investigators took over the case in 2016 to gather evidence.
