A Warren bird sanctuary is caring for a federally protected bird after it was injured over the weekend.
Birds in Flight Sanctuary in Warren received the call about a turkey vulture that had been shot with an arrow.
Sanctuary officials took the bird in for X-rays to see the damage done and found that the bird also had been shot with a pellet gun.
They were able to remove the arrow and are continuing to monitor the bird as it recovers.
The bird is expected to stay in their care until spring.
