YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Police Department swore in a new officer Thursday morning with the help of Youngstown Mayor, Jamael Tito Brown and YPD Chief, Carl Davis.
Officer Jordan Devine-Jones was sworn in in the Youngstown City Council Chambers at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Jones tells 21 News that being a police officer is her dream job.
"I've always wanted to be a police officer since I was a child. It's always been my dream job, so I strived for it, and here I am," Jones said.
Jones went on to tell 21 News that she's specifically excited to work with juveniles and helping with the community.
"A lot of the problems start with the juveniles, so I feel like me working with them and helping make them feel like they have a purpose in life," Jones said.
