Police charge two suspects connected with possible Austintown drive-by shooting

Austintown Police arrested and charged two suspects in connection with the possible drive-by shooting that happened in Austintown.
Police arrested both Austintown resident Trayshaun Hill, who turned 20 on Tuesday, and 21-year-old Campbell native Stevie Ballard during the ongoing investigation.
An officer said that he was responding as backup to the initial crime scene when he saw Hill sitting in a driveway at a vacant home on North Fourmile Run Road Monday afternoon. The same officer said Hill was waiting on a friend to pick him up after he left his girlfriend's home about two miles away. A sergeant said Hill claimed he had heard the gunshots while walking.
Hill was then advised that due to the circumstances and proximity of the shooting, he would be temporarily detained.
Via witness testimony, officers determined that Hill was seen driving a stolen white 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was connected to the investigation. Officers found the vehicle earlier in the day with bullet holes.
Hill's girlfriend was one of the people who told officers that he was driving the Jeep.
Hill was then taken in for booking and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering with Evidence, Carrying Concealed Weapons and Obstructing Official Business. He remains in-custody on a $5000 bond.
A little while later, officers discovered a semi-automatic hand gun found buried in the leaves at the same vacant home where Hill was arrested. Officers believed the gun to be used in the shooting.
The second suspect, Ballard, was arrested on Wednesday after he matched the description one officer gave and entered the same vehicle that the officer described. He was booked and remained silent when given the chance to speak with a sergeant.
Ballard is charged with Improper Handling of Firearms in a Motor Vehicle and Carrying Concealed Weapons. There is no bond set for Ballard.
The investigation remains ongoing after shots were fired between Carnegie Road and North Fourmile Run Road.
