Youngstown Parks Department, Councilwoman to hold community input meeting for Kirkmere Park

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Parks Department alongside Councilwoman Lauren McNally will be hosting a community input meeting for the Kirkmere Park improvement project on Thursday Dec. 2 at Common Goods Studio (2000, Canfield Rd. Youngstown) at 5:00 p.m.
Community members are invited to see preliminary plans for improvements to Kirkmere Park and provide their feedback, as well as suggestions for improvements.
McNally tells 21 News she's been working with the Parks Department for the past eight months on this project stating that Kirkmere Park has not received the attention that other local parks have.
She tells us she wants to make sure the park is serving the neighborhood and adapting to changes within it.
McNally told 21 News about the preliminary ideas that would be discussed at Thursday's meeting. The plans are as follows:
-Exercise equipment for older adults
-New playground equipment, as much of the current equipment is broken
-Upgraded bathrooms
-A meditation area that would include a labyrinth
-Cleaning up the baseball field
-A space for events such as family movie nights and yoga in the park
