WARREN, Ohio - Authorities have released the name of a man found murdered in an apartment complex in Warren on Tod Ave.

The Trumbull County Coroner tells 21 News that 51-year-old Bernard Owens died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Forty-year-old Cedrick Patterson of Warren has been charged with murder in the case.

Owens was found on the fifth floor of the complex bleeding from the nose and mouth. EMTs showed up on the scene to assist, but Owens died during the process. 

Police followed bloody footprints and blood on the walls in a stairwell leading up to the seventh floor.
