WARREN, Ohio - A Niles man has been indicted by the Trumbull County Grand Jury on charges connected to the rape of an underage girl.

26-year-old Xavier Baynes was indicted on three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and one count of gross sexual imposition.

Baynes' indictment stems from the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl from New Castle.

Police reports say Baynes picked up the girl from her home on November 19th and took her to his home, giving her drinks of hard seltzer and other alcoholic beverages.

Although the teen told police she didn’t resist the alleged advances, she told them she was intoxicated at the time.

Baynes has been held in the Trumbull County Jail since late November.
