Woman sentenced for role in Valley methamphetamine conspiracy

AKRON, Ohio - A woman already serving prison time for drug charges has been sentenced to even more time behind bars for her part in a conspiracy to sell methamphetamines in the Valley.
Jaclyn Szachury, 35, would have been released from a state prison later this year where she was serving time for drug convictions in Portage and Summit County.
However, last week a federal judge handed down a seven-year sentence following her conviction on a charge of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Szachury was one of six people named in a six-count indictment last year following a multi-agency investigation.
According to the indictment, between July 2019 through December 2020, the six allegedly worked together to distribute methamphetamine in communities throughout Northern Ohio.
Investigators say Szachury provided methamphetamine to a Warren woman, who in turn distributed the drugs to three others further distribution to others in the Valley.
