YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Mahoning County attorney has been placed on an interim remedial suspension after a series of incidents in which he was in "an altered mental state."

According to a document from the Supreme Court of Ohio, Krishna James has repeatedly been involved with interactions with law enforcement while in an altered mental state.

These interactions have resulted in felony charges currently pending from three separate jurisdictions in both Ohio and Pennsylvania, and James's current incarceration in the Lawrence County Jail.

In early January, James allegedly struck a door of the New Castle Fire Department with an ax, shot up the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership Building and attempted to break into the McGonigle Ambulance station.

In addition, James also had two separate drug-related charges in Ohio, both dating back to 2021. but these charges were not filed until after the events in New Castle.

Based on these charges, the Supreme Court of Ohio says James engaged in a course of actions that "poses a substantial threat of serious harm to the public and is prejudicial to the administration to justice."

Currently, James is in the Lawrence County Jail with pending charges including two counts of Burglary, two counts of Criminal Trespassing (both felonies in the third degree), six more charges of Criminal Trespassing and Prohibited Discharge of a Firearm for the government building attacks.

He's also facing pending charges of Possession of Drugs for the two drug-related incidents.
