A Hubbard man is jailed on a $100,000 bond after New Castle Police say he struck a door at a fire department with an ax, shot up another government building, and tried to break into a local ambulance company.

Police believe it was 38-year-old Krishna James who went into the New Castle Fire Department and struck a door with ad ax.

According to one firefighter, the intruder was wearing a handgun in a holster and claimed there was a “siege” coming.

The suspect left the fire station before police arrived.

Twenty minutes later, police say they believe it was James who fired shots into the alarm system on the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership building on Grant Street before trying to get inside the McGonigle Ambulance station at the corner of Jefferson and Falls Streets.

Two hours later, police found James inside a car at the Oak Leaf Gardens apartments on Pin Oak Drive.

According to the police, James got out of the car but refused to obey their orders.  Police say James fell to his knees after they shot him twice with a non-lethal sponge launcher.

Police arrested James and confiscated his loaded 9 mm handgun.

James was treated at UPMC Jameson for injuries that police described as minor before being arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and discharging firearms.

The next court date in the case is scheduled for January 11.
