NEWTON FALLS, Ohio -  One Valley community is lighting up the night sky in a show of support for the war-weary people of Ukraine.

The City of Newton Falls is lighting up its water tower with alternate blue and yellow lights, the colors of the Ukraine flag.

The Office of City Manager Pamela Priddy says some community members contacted the city suggesting some show of support for the embattled country and its people.

Mayor Ken Kline told 21 News that the city has the ability to light up the water tower with several colors.

“Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine”, said Kline

The city manager’s office says the lighting will continue until further notice.
