Flood water receding in Leavittsburg neighborhood

LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio - Flood water is receding in a neighborhood in Leavittsburg after a day of being under water due to Monday's heavy rainfall.
According to Warren Township Road Superintendent, Joe Toporcer, the water started receding at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Those living along North Meadowbrook Drive and North Leavitt Road NWl dealt with standing water throughout their neighborhood with some coming close to their homes.
The neighborhood is along the Mahoning River. A 21 News crew on the scene said the Mahoning River's water level was high and the current was moving at a fast pace.
The area received a lot of rain in the last 24 hours with nearby rain gauges listing between 1.5"-1.7" of precipitation.
Both nearby parks, Thomas A. Swift MetroPark and Canoe City MetroPark were closed due to flooding in the area.
