WNIT: Kent State uses 3rd quarter surge to defeat YSU in opening round

The Youngstown State women's basketball team has played its final game of the season.
In the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament, the Penguins fell to visiting Kent State, 68-59.
The Penguins led by 10 points with 7:11 remaining in the half before taking a 33-30 lead into the locker room.
Penguins' starter and fifth-year senior Chelsea Olson left the game with an injury at the 4:55 mark in the second quarter and did not return.
The Flashes stormed out of the gate in the third quarter, opening on an 18-2 run and taking a 48-35 with 1:50 to play in the quarter.
Overall, KSU outscored the Penguins 38-26 in the second half.

YSU was led by Malia Magestro with 16 points, followed by Lilly Ritz with 14 and Olson, who played 13 minutes, with 11 points.
The Penguins finish the season with a record of 24-7 and earned a regular-season conference title for the first time since 1998-99. The 24 wins are the highest win total since 1997-98, and they tied a Horizon League record for conference wins, going 18-4 this season.
