Ohio is now two weeks away from the May 3 Primary Elections. That's why Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose announced on Wednesday that over 125,000 absentee ballots have been requested by mail or in person and over 44,000 votes have been cast statewide.

Data was collected by LaRose's office via an informal survey of Ohio's 88 county boards of elections. Data as of the end of early voting on April 15 is as follows:

- Ballots requested: 61,512 Democratic, 61,792 Republican and 2,354 non-partisan.

- Ballots cast early in person: 10,690 Democratic, 12,646 Republican and 355 non-partisan.

- Total ballots returned and submitted for counting: 21,336 Democratic, 22,795 Republican and 863 non-partisan.

Locally, the numbers for the Mahoning Valley are as follows:

- Mahoning County: 489 total ballots cast via early in-person voting (329 Democratic, 157 Republican), 898 absentee ballots returned (522 Democratic, 290 Republican) 1,317 total

- Trumbull County: 965 total ballots cast via early in-person voting (688 Democratic, 276 Republican), 544 absentee ballots returned (389 Democratic, 151 Republican) 1,509 total

- Columbiana County: 101 ballots cast via early in-person voting (40 Democratic, 61 Republican), 297 absentee ballots returned (112 Democratic, 185 Republican) 398 total

This election season, Ohio voters will have 200 hours of early voting in the May 3 Primary. Ohio is one of 18 states that allows voting on Saturdays and one of six states that allows early voting on Sundays.
