The Youngstown State women's golf team sits in fifth place after the first round of the Horizon League Championships from Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida. 

Puthita Khuanrudee is tied for second place from Mission Inn Resort's Las Colinas course. 

Youngstown State has a team score of 318, good for 12 strokes off the lead. Oakland sits in first place as a team after shooting a combined 306, while Detroit Mercy is in second with a 307. 

Khuanrudee shot a one-over-par 74 on Sunday. In the process, she made 13 pars and collected two birdies to go along with three bogeys. Khuanrudee is two strokes back of Oakland's Amalia Shahzan, who grabbed the lead with a one-under-par 72 in the first round.

The Penguins return to the course Monday for the second round, teeing off from the first hole at 7:30 a.m.
