Gas prices dip in Youngstown, but rise back up across America

Youngstown continues to see lower prices at the gas station compared to the rest of Northeast Ohio.
Right now a gallon of gas costs an average of $3.74 in the city and $3.76 throughout the region, according to data from AAA.
The rest of America isn't as lucky. National gas prices are on the rise, costing $4.12 a gallon on average, or over a quarter more spent than in Youngstown.
Concerns that less Russian oil will enter the global market combined with fears of a COVID-induced economic slowdown in China are causing oil prices to hover around $100 a barrel, AAA says.
But the agency claims that as long as the price of oil stays elevated, pump prices could continue to trend upward.
This week's national average is still 12 cents less than a month ago but $1.24 more than a year ago.
