Youngstown Police execute search warrant in shooting investigation

YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown police were on scene at two homes on Samuel Street Tuesday afternoon after investigators said they were looking for evidence related to recent shootings in the city.
Around 2 p.m. the Youngstown Police Department Detective Division, supported by the Patrol Division, Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force, and FBI, executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Samuel St.
Investigators say the search warrant was seeking evidence in several recent shootings across the South Side of Youngstown.
One of the homes was the scene of a shooting last August where a 10-year-old girl was killed and three others were wounded.
Police are questioning one individual who was located at the residence while other items of evidence were also recovered there.
Mayor Brown, along with Chief Davis says they continue to call for those who choose violent means to solve their disputes to put down the weapons and find other resolutions to their issues.
It is unclear if anyone else was taken into police custody.
