Second Harvest Food Bank Executive Director Michael Iberis is lauding the Valley’s response to the 2022 Harvest for Hunger campaign.

In a letter from Iberis to campaign sponsor 21 WFMJ and WBCB, Iberis says this year’s effort raised enough money and collected enough food to provide more than 2.2 million meals for hungry individuals and families.

The campaign raised more than $300,000 in donations and collected 30,565 pounds of food.

In addition to airing public service announcements about the campaign, 21 WFMJ and WBCB provided news coverage and broadcast “Feed our Valley Heroes” promotions.

It was back in 2007 when 21 News created “Project: Feed Our Valley.”  The effort to help raise awareness about hunger issues and help raise money and food donations has continued every year since then.

A big “thank you!” goes out to all who have contributed to easing one of the Valley's most pressing problems.
