Ohio Turnpike to host customer appreciation event Friday

The Ohio Turnpike along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) are teaming up to host a customer appreciation event at the turnpike's Mahoning Valley Service Plaza in New Springfield on Friday, June 24.
The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the service plaza. Guests can spin an electronic wheel to win prizes from the Ohio Turnpike including $25 Sunoco gas cards.
In addition, OSHP will be displaying a display car for the public to see a cruiser up close and meet with state troopers.
Outside of the service plaza, the Cleveland Police Historical Society and Museum in partnership with the OSHP Retirees Association will display four vintage cruisers including a 1970 Plymouth Fury, a 1975 Plymouth Gran Fury, a 1988 Chevrolet Caprice and a 1990 Chevrolet Camaro.
AVI Foodsystems will provide $1 hot dogs and other items for lunch, and Covelli Enterprises, which includes Panera Bread, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill and Oath Pizza will provide samples and give away merchandise. 7-Eleven will also provide mini slurpees and Kona Ice will provide flavored ice cones.
Keith Kennedy from 98.1 WKDD's "Keith and Tony" morning show will give away WKDD radio merchandise and event tickets during a remote broadcast from the service plaza between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Ohio Turnpike and OHSP remind drivers to make responsible choices on the road such as driving buckled, sober focused and obeying the speed limit during the 100 deadliest days of summer, which began Memorial Day weekend and ends after Labor Day.
