Youngstown's Stop 25 Reunion offers food, music and something for everyone
The Stop 25 Reunion has been happening for decades, a triennial event that offers vendors selling goods, food, music and a car show.
The two-day event begins Friday with more than 20 vendors and will continue until around midnight.
One of the event coordinators, Deborah McElroy Gordan, said that Youngstown families return to the Valley to attend and enjoy the 'Reunion,' but added that event is open to everyone, not just Youngstown residents.
The event is named for the old trolley stop that ran from the neighborhood located near Wardle and Jacobs avenues to Sharon, Pa.
The event will offer free food for children, and food for purchase for adults, including options from hot dogs, burgers, ribs, and fish to french fries, and even alligator at one vendor's stand.
The festivities continue on Saturday afternoon, with vendors and food, and bands. There will be a live band performance by the "Beck WARD Experience" featuring Billy Beck and Rickey Ward of The Ohio Players at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6.
A car show will be held at Johnson Park (also known as Bailey Park) from noon until 6 pm. The will be games for children from 1 pm until 3 pm at the corner of Jacobs and Wardle Ave. Saturday.
