STRUTHERS, Ohio - Struthers Police have released the body camera video of the arrest of Mahoning County Treasurer, Dan Yemma.

The arrest took place on Thursday, September 8 after a Struthers Police officer conducted a traffic stop shortly before 10:00 p.m.

The officer described Yemma's driving to another officer on scene.

"Drunk. I can smell it. Pulled out right in front of me coming down Wildcat [Drive-Thru]," the officer said.

"Then he went left of center severely when he made his turn then he just punched it, and then when I pulled him over he pulled right onto the curb," he continued.

In the video, police asked Yemma how much he had been drinking that night stating that he could smell alcohol on his breath. Yemma replied that he had "nothing to drink."

Officers then asked Yemma to step out of the vehicle to perform a field sobriety test.

Just before the test was administered, officers once again asked Yemma how much he had to drink, to which he replied "not a lot" and "nothing" when officers asked how much "not a lot" meant.

Upon failing the tests, Yemma was arrested for OVI. Yemma refused to take a breathalyzer test for blood alcohol content.

Yemma entered a written "not guilty" plea on Monday, September 12. He will appear in Struthers Municipal Court for a pretrial hearing on October 4 at 11:30 a.m.
