Nine human trafficking suspects indicted in Mahoning County Court
Nine suspects who were jailed after a statewide human trafficking crackdown from the Ohio Attorney General's Office were indicted in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas on Friday.
The suspects indicted are each pictured below and are as follows:
- 46-year-old Herbert Lashhorn of Akron: Indicted on one count of compelling prostitution, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor with firearm specifications, two counts of possessing criminal tools and one count of engaging in prostitution.
- 33-year-old Jay Emmert of Niles: Indicted on one count of importuning, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor and one count of possessing criminal tools.
- 34-year-old Thomas Ashby of Warren: Indicted on one count of compelling prostitution, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor and two counts of possessing criminal tools.
- 52-year-old Benjamin Virga of Shelby, Michigan: Indicted on One count of importuning, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor, two counts of disseminating material harmful to juveniles and one count of possessing criminal tools.
- 44-year-old Michael Beal of Deerfield, Ohio: Indicted on one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor, one count of importuning and one count of possessing criminal tools.
- 37-year old Tomas Baker of Warren: Indicted on one count of compelling prostitution, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor, one count of engaging in prostitution and two counts of possessing criminal tools
- 25-year-old John Burnett of Youngstown: Indicted on one count of compelling prostitution, one count of importuning and one count of disseminating material harmful to juveniles.
- 57-year-old Carlos Rush of Warren: Indicted on one count of compelling prostitution, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor, one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of possessing criminal tools.
- 64-year-old Gary Wellendorf of Struthers: Indicted on one count of importuning, one count of attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor and one count of possessing criminal tools.
