Niles man accused of pretending to be twin brother in order to avoid arrest
A Niles man is behind bars after allegedly telling police that he was his twin brother in order to avoid being arrested.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched to a home on Belmont Avenue in Niles in reference to an overdose. Police say when they asked the caller for his identification, he gave them the name and social security number of his twin brother.
Police verified the social security number was connected to the name the caller provided, but police say they had dealt with the caller before and were "almost certain" that he was lying about his identity.
Officers checked BMV photos of the caller and his twin brother and positively identified the caller as suspect, 20-year-old Louie Holbrook. Police say Holbrook's twin brother has a tattoo on his face, and the two have different facial features and different hairstyles.
Police say Holbrook had two warrants out for his arrest; one for a traffic offense and another for a probation violation with an original charge of arson. Police say after Holbrook was handcuffed, he admitted to officers that he was not actually his twin brother.
Holbrook is in the Trumbull County Jail with charges of DUI, Arson and Falsification.
