Valley Congressman, Bill Johnson along with Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers have announced the witnesses for a subcommittee hearing to address the environmental response to the East Palestine train derailment disaster.

The witnesses announced include U.S. EPA Region 5 Administrator, Debra Shore, Ohio EPA Director, Anne Vogel and Health Commissioner for the Columbiana County General Health District, Wesley Vins.

In a joint statement, the two representatives said the East Palestine community deserves transparency and that it's critical that they hear from the officials charged with responding to the incident.

"We look forward to beginning those conversations at our Energy and Commerce hearing next week. This is the first step in the committee's ongoing efforts to bring transparency to these communities so they can trust that the air, water and soil surrounding their homes is not a threat to their health," the statement read.

The meeting will be held at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m.
