A new shopping center is on its way to Beaver Township, and trustees say this could be a great source of economic development for the area.

The new 12,000-square-foot plaza would be coming to 859 and 863, East Western Reserve Road near The Shops at Southwestern Place, which features businesses such as The Bread Chef and Ely's.

JAC Management President, Eric Ryan tells 21 News multiple tenants have already shown interest in the project. Ryan tells us while he's not at liberty to name the tenants, residents can expect new retail and food businesses to come to this plaza.

Ryan says once everything is finalized with the tenants and necessary permits are acquired, construction could begin within the coming months. Ryan says he's hoping for the project to be completed by Spring of 2024.

When asked about how much would be invested into this project, Ryan could not give us a specific number but did say it would be a "significant investment."

Beaver Township Trustee, Pamela Simmons tells 21 News this along with multiple other projects going on in the township would be great opportunities for economic growth in the township.

"We also have another big project going on, the Love's Travel Center on Market Street by the turnpike bridges. I just feel like we're a growing community. Our census is just under 7,000, and when we have so many great things coming to our area like this and the [Western Reserve Road] widening project, it just shows people have confidence in Beaver Township," Simmons said.

Alan Friedkin with Burgan Friedkin Commerical Group tells 21 News more information on this project is expected to be released in the coming months.
