Cutrona introduces legislation to remove sales tax from guns, ammunition
If passed, Ohio would be one of the few states to make guns and ammunition exempt from sales tax.
State Representative, Al Cutrona has introduced legislation that would remove sales tax from both guns and ammunition and provide business incentive growth in Ohio.
"Rights guaranteed to us in the Bill of Rights should not be taxed. With this bill, we are enforcing the constitutional right of our citizens while helping Ohio's businesses and consumers," Cutrona said.
Additionally, the legislation would provide gun and ammunition manufacturers tax credit that would offset the federal excise tax imposed on these manufacturers.
If passed, Ohio would be one of the few states to make guns and ammunition exempt from sales tax.
The legislation is now awaiting its first committee hearing.
