A new restaurant is coming to Lake Milton, and the story behind it makes it even better.

Land is being prepped for the 'Lake Milton Tavern.' The Tavern is owned by Chrissy Long, who might sound a bit familiar to people around the Valley.

Long was the owner of Chrissy's Lake Tavern in Mecca Township, before it burned down back in February of 2022. Frozen water at Mosquito Lake made it difficult for fire crews to out out the blaze. The historic building was a total loss.

Following the fire, Chrissy released a statement that reads in part, "I can only hope that God blesses me with enough tomorrows that we can renew and rebuild, if possible."

And he has. The Lake Milton Tavern will be a 4,000 square foot restaurant, located at 17000 Mahoning Avenue.

So far, Milton Township has issued permits for site preparations and foundation work. Behind the building's design is Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates Inc., whose other notable work includes Columbiana's TownCenter at Firestone Farms.

We're working to find out a timeline for the construction and opening of the restaurant.
