People planning to travel Route 45 in Columbiana County Friday night might want to make sure that they’re sober.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced it will conduct an OVI checkpoint along the highway from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. A news release did not give a more specific location for the checkpoint.

In Columbiana County, Route 45 runs from Salem, through Lisbon, to Wellsville.

The checkpoints, funded by federal grants, are meant to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
