The Youngstown Business Incubator's Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) has named Monica Anderson as business advisor under MBAC's new grant cycle as Ohio Department of Development Division's Tier 2 Agency.

Anderson has a bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University. As the owner of M Jones LLC, she is a Minority Business Enterprise, Women-Owned Business Enterprise, Veteran-Friendly Enterprise certified business owner.

She has experience as a loan signing agent and joined the National Notary Association in 2023. Anderson has experience as a financial literacy educator, specializing in credit restoration and partnering with the United Way to teach financial literacy courses. Anderson also owns J & M Enterprises, a vending machine company established in Youngstown, and is a licensed realtor with Century 21 Lakeside Realty.

As a former client of MBAC, Anderson's new position as a business advisor will enhance the center's efforts to serve minority business owners in the Youngstown/Warren region as a Tier 2 agency.

"I'm excited to be of service to the MBAC clients and the YBI family. Bringing to the table the perspective of being a past client to now, that of the business advisor is refreshing," Anderson said. "It gives me the advantage and a thorough understanding of what the client is going through and what is needed for the
client to grow."

Anderson has also recently been selected to serve as a board member for Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP).
