GROVE CITY, Pa. - The metal artisans at Grove City’s Wendell August Forge have created a Christmas ornament that memorializes the lives lost in a deadly explosion in Plum, Pennsylvania, and helps aid the survivors in that neighborhood.

The forge is taking orders for aluminum Plum Proud Benefit Ornaments to celebrate the Plum Community that was the scene of an August 12th explosion that claimed six lives and damaged nearly a dozen homes.

The 2.75 inch by 3.5-inch heart-shaped handcrafted work is etched with the simple words “Plum Proud”, with space on the back for a personalized message.

With an expected shipping date of October 1st and selling for $20 each, 50% of the sales will be donated to The Rustic Ridge Families Fund.

Orders must be submitted by September 15 by following this link.

This isn’t the first time Wendell August Forge has created a work to benefit a worthwhile cause.  Following the 2019 fire that devastated Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the metalsmiths produced an ornament. A portion of the sales was donated to benefit the reconstruction of the iconic cathedral.
