BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Students at Brookfield High School are making sure those in need here in the Valley have a nice warm place to sleep this holiday season and beyond.

Students in the pre-apprentice shop class have been building 20 bunk beds to give to Trumbull County non-profit Sleep In Heavenly Peace.

Building trades teacher Kenneth Iser tells 21 News in addition to helping those in need, the students are also learning practical building skills.

"In here we start off with hand tools and we work our way up to power tools and it just so happened we were able to team up with Sleep In Heavenly Peace this year to create a coalition where we build beds, donate them to them and they give them to children in need in Trumbull County," Iser said.

Iser says the class is having a great time with the project and the beds should be finished this week. The class will go as a group to deliver the beds over the weekend.
