WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man is accused of running a man over with a vehicle in a driveway during an argument.

According to a police report from Warren PD, the incident happened Saturday shortly after 9:00 p.m. at a home on the 2100 Block of North Park Avenue for someone who had been hit by a car.

Upon arrival, police located the victim, who they say was laying on his back with his shirt pulled up exposing his abdomen, which police say had a long mark the width of a tire on it.

Police also say there was blood on the driveway near the victim and another man, identified as 54-year-old Robert Godfrey Jr., who had blood coming from his nose.

Officers spoke to the victim's son who told police he could hear the victim, identified as his father and Godfrey, identified as his uncle arguing outside.

Police say when the victim's son went outside to see what the argument was about, he saw Godfrey backing out of the driveway with the victim walking towards him.

The victim's son told police Godfrey put the car in drive and ran the victim over causing him to strike another vehicle parked in the front yard.

From there, police say the victim's son got involved and pulled Godfrey out of the car because he thought he was going to try to run him over again, and Godfrey grabbed the son by the legs and tried to throw him to the ground.

Police arrested Godfrey and charged him with felonious assault. He pled not guilty to this charge on Monday and is expected back in court on January 16.
