People brave below freezing temperatures in Mahoning Valley

While many of us prefer to spend the time curled up under a blanket and dreaming of warmer days, that was not the case for many people around the valley.
Parking lots were full, and restaurants were packed during the season's first cold spell.
Despite freezing temperatures and harsh wind chills, people still lined up at The Mocha House in Warren to warm up with hearty foods.
"Cold weather is a plus for us [because] we have soups and all the hot drinks. When the weather changes [we] see more people looking for comfort foods," The Mocha House co-owner, Nick Liakaris, said.
People ventured out to satisfy their cravings for hot treats like hot chocolate or to meet up with friends and family. Some people braved the cold because of work responsibilities.
The Mocha House regular, Jennifer Campbell, said her winter gear with hot soups will keep her warm and cozy throughout the day before huddling up at home to watch a big game.
"My plans for today are to stay warm. I wore a great turtleneck [and an] extra coat. I am going to have a warm bowl of soup, and my friend here is going to have a hot chocolate [and then] I'm going home at 4:30 to cuddle up and watch the Steelers win." Campbell said.
Subfreezing temperatures will stick with the valley for the rest of the week, but for people like Campbell, this is also a perfect time to accomplish any goals made at the beginning of the year.
"I will try to hibernate, get things done, maybe get my New Year resolutions moving by decluttering my house," Campbell said.
