MIDDLEFIELD, Ohio - Residents in the tiny Northeast Ohio village of Middlefield are becoming victims of the Rite Aid bankruptcy.

According to a court filing, Rite Aid plans to close its only store in the Amish community of 2,750 as part of its plan to reduce the company’s debt.

Middlefield, which still has a CVS and pharmacies at the local Walmart and Giant Eagle, is 20 miles northwest of Warren.

In addition to the Middlefield store, Rite Aid’s closing list includes six pharmacies in the Valley.
