The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has announced on Wednesday that it will be returning to East Palestine in June for its final board meeting on last year's train derailment and subsequent hazardous material release and fires in the village.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 25 at 9:30 a.m. at East Palestine High School. The public is invited to attend in person or watch the meeting live on the NTSB's YouTube channel.

During the meeting, NTSB board members will vote on the final findings, probable cause and recommendations. The board will also vote on any changes to the draft final report.

These meetings follow a two-day investigative hearing last June in the village as part of the agency's investigation.

Additionally, NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy is planning two community meetings in the village on June 24 and 25 respectively. These meetings will provide an opportunity for the public to ask about the NTSB and its investigative process.

The exact time and details of these meetings will be announced at a later time.
