Youngstown Burke School of Irish Dance to host kickoff to Green Season

The Youngstown Burke of Irish Dance will hold it's Green Season event Sunday, February 25 at 2:00 P.M. at Ursuline High School.
The kickoff will include an afternoon full of Irish dance, music, and a culture. This year, Burke partnered up with local musicians like Mike Schaffer of the Schaffer Brothers band, Laura Miller of the Hired Hands, and Jen Linebaugh as well as Lit Youngstown to give the audience the experience of live Irish music.
"The Youngstown Burke School of Irish Dance has been helping this Valley celebrate St. Patrick's Day since 1965 with performances all around town throughout the month of March," said board president Lauren McNally. "This showcase is a great way to kick it all off."
The event will also highlight performances from the school's dances who recently qualified for the World Championships set to take place at the end of March in Glasgow, Scotland. It will also feature dancers from the school who qualified for the North American Championships taking place in Texas over the summer.
Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at the door, or by emailing the school at burkeirishyoungstown@gmail.com.
